The Plan C Ltd. specialists, together with colleagues from Frotcom Bulgaria, have built an interface for exchanging data and telematic information from Frotcom GPS based intelligent vehicle tracking and fleet management system to the fleet management system eTran Manager® 4.4.
Frotcom is among the European leaders in the field of intelligent vehicle tracking and fleet management systems. Frotcom's system has an API (Application Programming Interface) with a variety of capabilities. This allows external developers of information systems to quickly and easily implement two-way information exchange.
Frotcom offers a full package of telematics services, including installation, training and maintenance of all types of fleets - cars, vans, trucks and construction machinery. The company operates directly in 53 countries in Europe, Africa, North and South America, Asia and Australia.
For modern models of vehicles and construction machinery, a connection can be established between the installed GPS tracker and the on-board computer via CAN Bus. Such a connection greatly expands the possibilities for tracking a large number and variety of vehicle parameters and data.
Various information is exchanged from GPS Frotcom to eTran Manager® for each vehicle and construction machinery registered in the systems:
- Full information about the routes – starting point with geocoding and address, starting time, ending point with geocoding and address, ending time, route length, initial and final odometer/motorhour readings
- Information about the fuel consumed during each route, amount of fuel in each of the tanks at the initial and final time of each route.
- Various telematic information about events related to the operation of a vehicle and construction machinery – maximum and minimum temperature of the cooling system, maximum engine speed, maximum and average vehicle speed, etc.
The newly built information exchange interface greatly increases the productivity of eTran Manager® users when creating waybills, analyzing fuel consumption, time worked by drivers, critical events that occurred during work. All this makes working with the fleet management system eTran Manager® easier and improves its quality.
